If the church is in a state of unreconciliation she is estranged. Pope Benedict knew this. For this reason he issued the Summorum pontificum freeing up the Mass. He gave it three years. Having received feedback on its implementation he issued a set of clarifications and gave it another 3 years. Our Lord has provided us with a parable that appears to describe Benedict’s action.
