Del Grande was brought before the College disciplinary panel and has received a public reprimand, lost his teaching licence, has to pay the minister of finance $5,000 and must also pay the College $80,000 for the legal costs of his prosecution. All this for what? You see Del Grande in 2019 at a board meeting made the comments that sexual protection in the Code of Conduct could become a slippery slope. Could acts of paedophilia and bestiality be protected next? These words and others were viewed as offensive and harmful and Del Grande has faced a legal ordeal for six long six years. This past Sunday the Canadian Liberal governemnt officially opened a monument called Thunderhead to celebrate the 2slgbtq+ community. The cost of the monument was paid from the settlement of a class-action lawsuit filed by ex-federal employees against the government for discrimination against homosexuals during the 1950s and 1960s. It was reported today Dolly Parton died at the age of 80. There was no official cause of death given, except that she died peacefully. We do know that in the recent years she was experiencing health issues with her immune system and having digestive problems. Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. The Assumption is about Mary the Mother of God taken to Heaven at the end of her earthly life. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 974) teaches, “The Most Blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up body and soul into the glory of heaven, where she already shares in the glory of her Son's Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of his Body.” In CCC 966, the Assumption is that: “Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death” (The quote comes from Pope Pius XII's Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus).
