Bishop Fredrik Hansen of Oslo, Norway, issued a July 3 statement following the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX). He said the two consecrating bishops and the four newly consecrated bishops had removed themselves from ecclesial communion and unity with the Pope: “This is sad, painful, and calls us to prayer and penance.” He urged Catholics to pray the Rosary for the unity of the Church on the Feast of Saint Sunniva, July 8. Monsignor Hansen repeated Cardinal Tucho Fernández’s explanation that the consecrations were a schismatic act and that the priests “can no longer validly grant absolution in the sacrament of confession.” He also urged Catholics to refrain from attending FSSPX Masses and other activities. Addressing FSSPX faithful directly, he wrote: “I understand that these are difficult and distressing days for you. You may find yourselves pulled in different directions, and perhaps stand bewildered before all that has now come to pass.” He …More
Just as predicted, when the Holy See announced the excommunication of the bishops consecrated by the Society of Saint Pius X, the headlines were horrible. Attention immediately centred upon the gravity of the penalty and the implications for the Society’s future. Supporters and critics alike hurried to debate Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre’s legacy, the necessity claimed by the Society and the consequences for traditional Catholics throughout the world. Almost unnoticed, however, another conversation began among canon lawyers.
This afternoon, Leo XIV will move to the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo for a period of rest, until Monday, July 27. During this time, general, private, and special audiences are suspended. The general audiences will resume on Wednesday, August 5. On the Sundays in July, Leo XIV will pray the Angelus in Freedom Square in Castel Gandolfo. #newsUhcuzrjysf
Lets hope for a St Paul moment blinding light for the hole church we all need it time to time correction is never fun but necessary . Fatima miracle of the sun Pius XII Saw it in Vatican Garden where that famous tree was planted by Francis
Appointing and meeting with apostates, not to mention excommunicating, does takes its toll(!) May the Holy Spirit engage with him fruitfully during his 'period of rest'
Is Leo a freemason? Back in 2013 someone I love, described the behavior of Francis as a freemason, and through his fruits we know it is more likely than not that he was, we saw how he behaved during his "dark decadepapacy", such was marked with plenty of signs from Heaven, heresies, betrayal and apostasy; Leo XIV is enforcing Francis falseness upon the Church and everybody is sold, as it right now, we don’t have a true John the Baptist to call the viper as a viper. Both "popes" have clear differences in styles and both are actively seeking* to water down everything catholic (* francis heresies are still being enforced by Leo). Francis was more outspoken meaning, it seemed like he didn't think, like he spoke without realizing the cosequences of his anathematic words, but when he put it in writting, we knew right away the man wasn’t just a fool, he and his minions were trying to eclipse the magisterium and catholic traditions. So, if it hisses like a viper, slides like a viper and it …More
Vatican Newspaper Denies Devil: Biblical scholar and feminist Marinella Perroni, 78, wrote for the July issue of L'Osservatore Romano's monthly supplement Donne Chiesa Mondo. She claims that "in the Genesis account there is no devil"; rather, "the serpent is simply the most cunning animal in the eyes of the desert nomads." She argues - that belief in evil spirits entered Jewish theology only at a relatively late stage through contact with other ancient religions, - that the devil as a distinct figure appears only in the late and strongly Hellenized Book of Wisdom, and - that St. Paul and the First Letter to Timothy linked "the serpent, the woman, and the fruit" to "the devil, women, and sin," thereby reinforcing a patriarchal understanding of sexual difference.
The essential difference between these two groups lies not in their attachment to the traditional Mass, but in their public judgment on the causes of the crisis. Canonically recognized traditional communities continue, by virtue of their statutes, to institutionally accept the Second Vatican Council and the liturgical reforms. They may criticize certain excesses or interpretations, but they do not contest the principles or the legitimacy of the reforms. The SSPX, on the contrary, considers that several conciliar teachings, particularly on religious freedom, ecumenism and collegiality, as well as the liturgical reform itself, constitute deep causes of the crisis and must therefore be subjected to doctrinal criticism.
@Irishpol It is as you say, a PSYOP. They make the appearance of being Roman Catholic without the certainty of the substance! They really are just fake Novus Ordo bishops transmitting the Novus Ordo sacraments and faith. As Archbishop Lefebvre said, bastard priests, bastard rite!
Leo XIV in Lampedusa: Today, Pope Leo XIV visited Lampedusa to highlight his preferred issue of immigration. He began the visit with a silent prayer at the Cala Pisana cemetery, standing before the wooden crosses of migrants who had died while being trafficked. During his homily, he greeted the immigrants and thanked them for helping each other. As he walked along the island’s rocky coast, the wind blew his zucchetto off (as can be seen in the video).
For a valid consecration at a Catholic Mass, a priest requires three things: valid matter (unleavened wheat bread and natural grape wine), correct form (the exact words of consecration spoken in persona Christi), and the correct intention (the will to do what the Church does) what is his intention?
