The publication, Schede per conoscere l’Islam (“Sheets for Understanding Islam”), was prepared by the CEI and the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI). It comprises 11 teaching sheets intended for use in Catholic religious instruction in Italian schools. They were presented at Palazzo Borromeo in Rome on October 21, at an event attended by Cardinal Matteo Zuppi. Sheet 2 describes Muhammad as “chosen by God to carry His message and to establish and guide the new community of believers.” It also presents him as an ideal believer whose life became a model for Muslims. Cardinal Koovakad attended Sikh gathering opened with pagan devotional hymns. On 21 October, Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad, Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, visited the Sikh community in Birmingham, England. He was received by Sikh spiritual leader Bhai Sahib Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia. Leo XIV cancels his presence at next inter-religious Assisi meeting. Pope Leo XIV will not travel to Assisi on October 27 for the peace meeting with representatives of various religions. The meeting was intended to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the syncretistic Assisi gathering convened by John Paul II in 1986. It seems that Leo XIV wants to avoid another scandal. On October 20, Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein confirmed that he would not approve legislation allowing abortion. The bill had passed Parliament on September 2 by 13 votes to 12. Without the Prince's approval, it cannot enter into force. He stated that the proposal did not adequately protect unborn life. He expressed support for improving information, counselling and assistance for mothers.

A 200-year-old French church is being turned into a Pilates studio and café. In Le Légué, Brittany, the former Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours church is set to reopen in early 2027 as “70 bpm”, a hybrid hospitality and wellness venue. Located in Plérin, near the port of Le Légué and the city of Saint-Brieuc, the church dates from the early 19th century. Catholic worship reportedly ended in 2023. The building was subsequently withdrawn from sacred use and sold by the Catholic diocese to developer Bleu Mercure.
