Saint Simon church fire (August 2026) IMAGE: Yvonne Chiasson with permission Residents watched early on Monday morning as an inferno engulfed the structure, leaving behind just charred remains. In a social media post, the Village of Caraquet said its hearts are heavy. It says a true emblem of its heritage has been ravaged by flames. There’s no word on the cause yet, but reports indicate it is considered suspicious. "May Jesus Christ be praised and blessed; for he has vouchsafed to grant to me, a poor unworthy sinner, the spirit of prophecy, not in an obscure way as to his other servants, but has enabled me to write and to speak in a most clear manner. I know that unbelieving and reprobate persons will scoff at my letters and will reject them; but they will be received by those faithful Catholic souls who aspire to the possession of heaven."

The Seventh Letter (and the last) of Saint Francis of Paola ~ 'Let your soul rejoice!'

Seventh Letter.
My excellent Lord, — Let your soul rejoice! for his Divine Majesty manifests through you such wonderful signs and great miracles,
according to what I, by God’s will, have often and again written and foretold to you. One of your posterity shall achieve greater deeds and work greater wonders than your lordship. That man will be a great sinner in his youth, but like St. Paul he shall be drawn and converted to God. He shall be the great founder of a new religious order different from all the others. He shall divide it into three classes, namely:
1. Military knights;
2. Solitary priests;
3. Most pious hospitallers.
This shall be the last religious order in the Church, and it will do more good for our holy religion than all other religious institutes.
By force of arms he shall take possession of a great kingdom. He shall destroy the sect of Mahomet, extirpate all tyrants and heresies. He shall bring the world to a holy mode of life. There will be one fold and one Shepherd. He …More

Commentary on Saint Augustine’s Prayer to the Holy Ghost

by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira
“O Love Divine, O sacred bond that unites the Father and the Son, almighty Spirit, faithful Consoler of the afflicted, penetrate the profound depths of my heart and make Thy resplendent light shine therein. Pour out Thy sweet dew upon this desert land to end its long aridity. Send forth the heavenly darts of Thy love into the sanctuary of my soul to light up burning flames that consume all my weaknesses, negligence, and apathy.
Come, o sweet Consoler of desolate souls, refuge in danger, and protector in distress.
Come, Thou Who washest souls from their stains and healest their wounds.
Come, strength of the weak, support of those who fall.
Come, doctor of the humble and defeater of the proud.
Come, Father of orphans, hope of the poor, treasure of the indigent.
Come, star of sailors, safe harbor of the shipwrecked.
Come, strength of the living and salvation of the dying.
Come, O Holy Ghost, come and have mercy on me. Make my soul simple, docile and faithful, …

"O holy men ! People blessed of the Most Holy Trinity ! Your victorious founder shall triumph over the world, the flesh, and the Devil. Laos Deo et omnibus Sanctis ejus. May God and all his saints be praised ."

The Sixth Letter of Saint Francis of Paola ~ 'Laos Deo et omnibus Sanctis ejus. May God and all his saints be praised.'

Sixth Letter
My excellent Lord, — The time is coming when his Divine Majesty will visit the world with a new religious order of holy Cruciferi,
who will carry a crucifix, or the image of our crucified Lord, lifted up upon the principal standard in view of all. This standard will be admired by all good Catholics; but at the beginning it will be derided by bad Christians and by infidels. Their sneers shall, however, be changed into mourning when they shall witness the wonderful victories achieved through it against tyrants, heretics, and infidels. Many wicked men and obstinate rebels against God shall perish; their souls will be plunged into hell. This punishment shall fall upon all those transgressors of the Divine commandments who with new and false doctrines will attempt to corrupt mankind and turn men against the ministers of God’s worship. The same chastisement is due to all obstinate sinners, but not to those who sin through weakness, because these being converted, doing penance, …More

Don't confuse Mary Divine Mercy (MDM) with Mission of Divine Mercy (MDM). The first is false, the second is authentic.

petrus100452

MDM said that Francis would convert. That he would be killed. That Benedict would have to flee Rome. That he would be killed also...... She says that all priests who do not believe her messages, are damned....
MDM is as false as can be!

Leo XIV “has made room for progressive LGBTQ+ voices in several recent high-profile appointments”, writes the homosexual website Them.us on August 24. The article highlights four recent pro-homosexual appointments of bishops. The examples are:
- James Checchio (New Orleans): he supported homosexual propaganda as bishop of Metuchen, New Jersey.
- Ramón Bejarano (Monterey, California): he presided over homosexual Eucharists as auxiliary bishop in San Diego, including transvestites in the liturgy.
- Christian Würtz (Eichstätt, Germany): he supported “blessings” for homosexuals and changes to biblical teaching on homosexuality.
- Thomas Hennen (Baker, Oregon): he drafted pro-homosexual “pastoral” guidelines.

Pope Leo XIV’s LGBTQ-Friendly Appointments Include Bishop Invited Drag Queen to Mass

The first American Pope has made room for progressive LGBTQ+ voices in several recent high-profile appointments, per an analysis in the popular Substack Letters from Leo, written by former Obama staffer Christopher Hale. In February, Pope Leo XIV officially appointed Bishop James Checchio as leader of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, per a blogpost from New Ways Ministry, a Catholic outreach organization that “educates and advocates for equity, inclusion, and justice for LGBTQ+ persons.” Checchio had been in line to take over the role informally since September 2025, per EWTN News. Checchio, who had previously led the Metuchen Diocese in New Jersey, made LGBTQ+ outreach a priority with at least two of the 75 parishes under his jurisdiction known to be explicitly LGBTQ+-friendly, according to New Ways Ministry: Sacred Heart Parish in South Plainfield and St. Joseph Parish in Hillsborough. Not only did Checcio support a group for LGBTQ+ Catholics in his diocese, he attended their 2016 …

Israeli Settler Who Attacked French Catholic Nun Acquitted

The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court has acquitted Yona Simcha Schreiber, 36, of criminal responsibility for a violent attack on a French Catholic nun in April.
The court accepted psychiatric evidence that he was psychotic at the time of the assault. He could neither understand the nature of his actions nor control them, the court ruled.
He was ordered to undergo compulsory psychiatric hospitalization for up to six years.
The attack occurred on Mount Zion, near King David’s Tomb outside Jerusalem’s Old City. Security footage showed Schreiber running toward the 48-year-old nun from behind and knocking her violently to the ground, causing her head to strike the stone pavement.
Schreiber initially walked away before returning and kicking the nun while she remained on the ground. He also assaulted a passerby who attempted to intervene.
The victim is a researcher at the Dominican-run École Biblique et Archéologique Française de Jérusalem.
Schreiber is a resident of Peduel, an illegal settlement …More

He didn’t appear psychotic with the man who came to the nun’s aid. He was bigger and stronger but did not press home his advantage as a psychotic would even without that advantage.

Communities in multiple states could face federally mandated water cuts because the Colorado River is so low. It would affect Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico Prices for groceries will increase due to this, “Nearly half of the country's vegetables and most fruits and nuts come from California, and they rely on water from the Colorado River. So food prices could go up if they don't sort this out” Lake Mead and Lake Powell are the 2 largest reservoirs in the US and have fallen to their lowest combined storage levels on record: - Lake Powell is around 23% full - Lake Mead is around 27% full Agriculture already uses as much as 80% of the water from the Colorado river

War Against the Ancient Mass Is Destructive for the Church - Cardinal Sarah

When the generation of the ’68ers passes away, the unfounded, one-sided attitudes against Latin and Gregorian chant will pass away as well, Cardinal Robert Sarah told IlGiornale.it on August 27.
Benedict XVI’s liberalization of the Traditional Latin Mass had a positive and even corrective influence on abuses in the celebration of the Novus Ordo, Cardinal Sarah said.
“Many priests testify that discovering the Extraordinary Form helped them to celebrate better.”
Furthermore, the faithful could choose which form corresponded more closely to the fostering of the faith.
“But all of this was brought to an abrupt end by Traditionis Custodes while the Pope Emeritus was still alive.”
Francis’ restrictions on the Latin Mass were “neither a wise nor a respectful choice.”
Cardinal Sarah added that access to “ritual forms that have existed for centuries can never be artificially restricted by decrees.”
Without referring explicitly to the Novus Ordo, Sarah noted that a rite that did not serve the …More

First woman rector of a shrine: Witnessing to the Gospel through listening

[vaticannews] At the Rimini Meeting, we spoke with Anna Medeossi, who has been entrusted with the care of Notre-Dame de Santa Cruz in Oran, Algeria, about her story of encounter, faith, and listening.
By Eugenio Murrali and Andrea Tornielli - Rimini
Anna Medeossi has a lively and determined gaze, gentleness in her voice and gestures, and a wisdom that is both humble and profound.
An architect originally from the Italian city of Gorizia, she might never have imagined what life would call her to do nearly a year ago: become the first woman in the world to serve as rector of a shrine.
That distinction takes on even greater significance because of where the shrine is located: Notre-Dame de Santa Cruz in Oran, Algeria, an overwhelmingly Muslim country.
Images of the shrine she oversees were seen around the world on the occasion of the beatification of the Martyrs of Algeria.
From architecture to caring for the shrine
Her arrival at Santa Cruz—where she now also lives as a consecrated virgin …More
