The report Freedom of Worship: A False Reality in Vietnam was released in June 2026 by International Christian Concern (ICC). It shows efforts by Vietnam's Communist Party to influence the Catholic Church through indirect means. ICC is a Washington, D.C.-based Christian human rights advocacy nonprofit founded in 1995 to document the persecution of Christians worldwide. The report argues that the Catholic Church occupies a unique position among Vietnam's religious communities. Unlike most other recognized religious organizations, it is not directly integrated into a state-controlled structure. Three Control Strategies According to the report, the Communist Party employs three principal strategies to control religious communities, drawing on a 2023 analysis by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). The first, substitution, involves outlawing historically independent religious organizations and replacing them with state-controlled alternatives, often after …More
“At ninety-three years of age, I don’t have enough time to clear my name of every vile falsehood that has been hurled against me in the public square. Yet I will always have time to defend the honour of the Church founded by Jesus Christ and her Sacraments, and I shall do so until the end of my life.” Just weeks before marking the 70th anniversary of his priestly ordination on July 8, a Portuguese Priest finds himself once again defending his reputation against false sexual abuse allegations that were archived by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith in 2023. After years of public accusations, restrictions on his ministry, relentless media vilification, and refusal to defend him by the Archdiocese of Braga, the priest has issued a public Right of Reply and announced legal action for defamation against the accusers. The case has gained renewed urgency as Grupo Vita (created by the Portuguese Episcopal Conference to respond to abuse allegations) prepares to meet Vatican officials …More
"The Apostles were very much troubled, and each one of them exclaimed: ‘Lord, is it I?’ for they were all perfectly aware that they did not entirely understand his words. Peter leaned towards John, behind Jesus, and made him a sign to ask our Lord who the traitor was to be, for, having so often been reproved by our Lord, he trembled lest it should be himself who was referred to. John was seated at the right hand of Jesus, and as all were leaning on their left arms, using the right to eat, his head was close to the bosom of Jesus. He leaned then on his breast and said: ‘Lord, who is it?’ I did not see Jesus say to him with his lips: ‘He it is to whom I shall reach bread dipped.’ I do not know whether he whispered it to him, but John knew it, when Jesus having dipped the bread, which was covered with lettuce, gave it tenderly to Judas, who also asked: ‘Is it I, Lord?’ Jesus looked at him with love, and answered him in general terms. Among the Jews, to give bread dipped was a mark of …More
[Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich; XVIII-XIX Century; born: 8 September 1774 Flamschen, Coesfeld, Prince-Bishopric of Münster, Holy Roman Empire/ died: 9 February 1824 (aged 49), Dülmen, Kingdom of Prussia, German Confederation; mystic, Marian visionary and stigmatist; Roman Catholic Augustinian canoness] MEDITATION VI ~ The last Pasch Jesus and his disciples ate the Paschal Lamb in the supper-room. They divided into three groups. Jesus ate the Paschal Lamb with the twelve Apostles in the supper-room, properly so called; Nathaniel with twelve other disciples in one of the lateral rooms, and Eliacim (the son of Cleophas and Mary, the daughter of Heli), who had been a disciple of John the Baptist, with twelve more, in another side-room. Three lambs were immolated for them in the Temple, but there was a fourth lamb which was immolated in the supper-room, and was the one eaten by Jesus with his Apostles. Judas was not aware of this circumstance, because being engaged in plotting his betrayal …More
"Our Lord cut up another lamb which was carried to the holy women in one of the buildings of the court, where they were seated at table. The Apostles ate some more vegetables and lettuce. The countenance of our Divine Saviour bore an indescribable expression of serenity and recollection, greater than I had ever before seen. He bade the Apostles forget all their cares. The Blessed Virgin also, as she sat at table with the other women, looked most placid and calm. When the other women came up, and took hold of her veil to make her turn round and speak to them, her every movement expressed the sweetest self-control and placidity of spirit."

Worse than Germany: Argentine Priest Celebrates World Cup at Eucharist: On June 15, parish priest Carlos Costale of Río Cuarto, Argentina, posted a video showing World Cup fan props used during an Eucharist celebration. One of the props was a paper bus labeled “La Scaloneta,” the popular nickname for Argentina’s national football team under Lionel Scaloni. The parish priest is known for his theatrical liturgical experiments, including mixing a fruit salad during a Pentecost Eucharist.
Father Matthieu Raffray: "As a Christian, I believe that there is only one religion, one truth, and one path: Christ himself. Thus, naturally, every Christian wishes for people to turn to Christ, to get to know Jesus Christ, and for all false religions to gradually disappear.”
Will Your Faith Survive The Apostasy? In the first reading today, we hear the story of Elijah and Elisha, highlighting Elisha’s unwavering faith and desire to inherit a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. This spirit, associated with prophecy, prayer, and extraordinary works, is seen as a divine gift passed down through generations. A parallel is drawn between Elijah’s time and the present, urging us to remain faithful and persevere in our love for God amidst challenges and apostasy. Fr. After Hitler was appointed Chancellor, the Nazi’s murdered the Catholic branch of the Nazi party (Gregor Strasser, Priests, others) known as the night of long knives. Strasser wanted to peacefully shut down usury in Germany without war. This always made me suspect infiltration.
