Did Leo XIV Appoint a Freemason to the Vatican?

On August 13, Leo XIV appointed Umberto Longo, Director of the Italian Historical Institute for the Middle Ages in Rome and Professor of Medieval History at the secular Sapienza University of Rome, as a member of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences.
The online footprint of Umberto Longo repeatedly places that name - and, in later cases, an identifiable Professor Longo - within the institutional environment of Italian Freemasonry and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. The examples span a decade.
2013 - Scottish Rite, Lazio: The Masonic publication LOGOS identifies a certain “Fr. Oratore Umberto Longo 4°” as an officer of the Loggia di Perfezione Maestri Segreti “Giano” in Rome.
The publication introduces a series of texts under the heading: “Le Tavole del Fr. Oratore Umberto Longo 4°.” The abbreviation Fr. is used throughout for Fratello - “Brother” - while the number identifies the Scottish Rite degree. More importantly, the issue contains the official 2013 officers …تېخىمۇ كۆپ

The Honeycomb, the Lily and the Bomb

– Folha de S. Paulo, June 6, 1987 –
by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira
Back in the seventies, the Brazilian newspaper, Folha de S. Paulo, asked Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira if he favored the end of legal restrictions to divorce. His reply is very applicable to the present debate around same-sex “marriage.” We reproduce the newspaper interview here having in mind the similarity between the two issues.
_______________ * * * ________________
The Brazilian Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) had numerous jousts against divorce in its history. Employing every means of action in this struggle, the TFP fought against it until the final moment.
The victory of divorce did not result, however, from the fact that a particularly fervid or efficacious pro-divorce onslaught had finally managed to raze the glorious rampart of conjugal indissolubility. Rather, this victory resulted from the lamentable relaxations that occurred within the Catholic milieu itself! But, I insist,…تېخىمۇ كۆپ

“Globalism has already failed to meet the needs of the people. It serves only the financial elite,” Marian Eleganti, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Chur, told LaNuovaBq on August 13. On Muslim immigration, he said: “Personally, I am convinced that Islam cannot be integrated into our political systems shaped by Christianity. There is no apolitical Islam, consisting purely of an interior religious life. It is a system of domination. The more convinced its followers are of this, the less integrable it is. The result is parallel societies.” He also criticized the Church’s approach to unlimited immigration: “The Catholic Church should not adopt an idealistic approach… [that] ignores the very real social problems associated with unlimited immigration.”

Bishop Eleganti: Islam poses ‘very serious’ danger to the West

“Globalism has already failed” and the crisis of predominantly Muslim migration is leading to a point of “no return”, Bishop Marian Eleganti has declared. The former auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Chur is one of a handful of prelates who publicly denounces Islam and the concept of modern migration into the West, and has regularly linked the demographic crisis in the West to the crisis of immigration simultaneously affecting Europe. Interviewed recently by La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana, Eleganti warned that the Catholic Church “should not take an idealistic approach on this issue”, outlining that this meant the Church should avoid preaching “a moralism detached from reality, which ignores the concretely existing social problems linked to unlimited immigration and which can only be solved with political common sense.”

Leo XIV Tells Aging Religious Sisters to Become “Experts in Synodality”

Today, Leo XIV sent a prerecorded video message to the 70th-anniversary assembly of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) in Orlando.
LCWR is the largest association of leaders of Catholic women religious in the United States. Its members are generally the superiors of congregations of sisters.
The video was shown to an overwhelmingly elderly gathering, with scarcely a religious habit or young face in sight.
Religious to Become “Experts in Synodality”
Leo XIV said that all Christians are called to be “formed in a synodal Church”. He continued: “In a special way, those in religious life are called to become experts in synodality due to the opportunities afforded by community life to practice it.”
Then, he praised the assembly's planned “synodal method of listening, discussion and discernment,” expressing the hope that through such “fraternal and receptive dialogue” the sisters would be able to “discern what the Holy Spirit is saying” about “the present and future of consecrated …تېخىمۇ كۆپ

Not Disturbing the Political Powers Behind France’s Euthanasia Law? Bishop Emeritus Dominique Rey told TribuneChrétienne.com of his one regret about Leo XIV’s September 25–28 visit to France: the Pope’s “very busy program” leaves no time to visit people at the end of life or palliative care units. Yet Leo XIV’s schedule includes several other meetings, including one with survivors of clergy sexual abuse. Meanwhile, France is close to legalizing euthanasia.

The Key to Saint Thérèse’s Little Way Is Innocence

by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira
Saint Thérèse of the Infant Jesus introduced a spirituality that she called the Little Way. It called for offering up small sacrifices in a big way.
However, the core of the Little Way is the idea that the soul possesses a childhood innocence.
It consists of a sense of wonder that gives the child the possibility of flight and reflection. Unfortunately, many people gradually lose this innocence over time due to spiritual decay.
The Little Way is fundamentally about maintaining this spiritual childhood. It calls for preserving the innocence, candor and fortitude found in the soul of a heroic child, and keeping it intact over time until the end.
This does not mean the soul must always act like a child. Rather, it means that one preserves one’s childhood innocences throughout the stages of aging. Each period of life has its unique qualities that add to a soul’s innocence. The person gradually accumulates the qualities of all the ages without losing any of them. …تېخىمۇ كۆپ

Priest Remains at Altar as Earthquake Shakes Bogotá Chapel: A priest remained at the altar as an earthquake struck during the Consecration at a Mass in the Roman rite at the Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bogotá on August 10. The altar server and congregation also remained in place as the church and hanging lamps shook. The Mass continued throughout the tremor.

This is how the priest and faithful attending the Traditional Latin Mass reacted when an earthquake struck in the midst of the Consecration. The footage was recorded at the Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bogotá.

🌈 Cardinal Welcomes Japan’s Homosexual Privileges

Worse than Germany: Cardinal Tarcisio Kikuchi of Tokyo has welcomed the Japanese government's plan to promote "understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity", which was approved on 16 June. The plan involves education and "awareness initiatives" in government, schools, and workplaces, as well as measures to combat "discrimination" against homosexuals.
In an interview with UcaNews.com on June 17, Cardinal Kikuchi described the government’s decision as “meaningful”, stating that it had clearly articulated a policy intended to foster a "deeper understanding of sexual minorities".
And: "An inclusive community that welcomes everyone is not just an attitude; it is the first step towards building the world that God calls us to create."
The cardinal's latest remarks are consistent with his longstanding homosex activism. Tokyo Archdiocese has organised monthly homosexual Eucharists. In 2023, he contributed to the book LGBT and Christianity, promoted by the 'Catholic HIV/AIDS Desk'. …تېخىمۇ كۆپ

Sad Story of Ex-Carmelite: Francis Supported Her Transvestite "Apostolate"

Mónica Astorga spent almost 40 years as a Discalced Carmelite nun in Argentina and became prioress of her convent in Neuquén.
She became internationally known for her work with transvestites because of Pope Francis' encouragement.
Astorga meanwhile left the convent and trained in hairdressing. The Vatican formally accepted her departure from the Discalced Carmelites in 2024. She “still” considers herself a believer – yet without attending a Eucharist regularly.
Long Connection with Bergoglio
Her connection with Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the future Pope Francis, began much earlier.
Astorga says she met him when he was a Jesuit in Buenos Aires in 1987, nearly two decades before she began working with transvestites. She later described Bergoglio's support for her as “unconditional.”
Beginning Her Work with Transvestites
Astorga began assisting transvestites in 2006, after one such guy sought help in a parish. Her clientele included prostitutes, people living with HIV, and impoverished or …تېخىمۇ كۆپ

New Apostolate for the Roman rite in Canada: The Institute of the Good Shepherd (IBP) has established a new apostolate for the traditional Roman Rite in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, with the permission of Archbishop Guy Desrochers. The first Mass was celebrated on July 19. The IBP was founded in 2006 by five former priests of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX/FSSPX). This appears to be its first foundation in Canada.

Archdiocese Denies Rumours That Cardinal Eijk Plans Resignation

The Archdiocese of Utrecht has rejected as false rumours that Cardinal Willem Eijk, 73, could have asked Pope Leo XIV during an audience on Monday to accept his early resignation as Archbishop.
“These reports are false. He has not offered his resignation,” the archdiocese told the Dutch newspaper Katholiek Nieuwsblad on Wednesday. An archdiocesan spokesman added that there was no basis for such speculation.
The audience attracted attention because Eijk has experienced health problems in recent months and didn't attend the consistories in January and June.
The archdiocese also provided an update on the cardinal’s health. “It is known that Cardinal Eijk struggled with health problems last winter,” the spokesman said. His recovery had taken longer than initially hoped, but was now progressing well.
According to the archdiocese, Eijk is expected to resume his duties fully on September 1.
