Cardinal Domenico Battaglia, 63, of Naples, Italy, wrote the foreword to the book 'Transgender People'. He believes that the Church is called to "renew its gaze upon humanity". The book deals with “complex and sensitive issues,” he writes. His examples are “gender dysphoria, transgender identities, and life experiences that do not conform to traditional models.” This raises “profound questions - including for the Church.” Cardinal Battaglia proposes “a path not of condemnation, but of accompaniment”: “No one is excluded from God’s heart.” And: “No life is foreign to the mystery of salvation.” “Every person, every story - even those that seem distant or difficult to understand - carries within it the possibility of a revelation.” The book “reminds us that behind ideas there are people. People whom we must encounter, listen to, and accompany.” #newsUqdcmgjzfp

Italian bishop closes church after real-estate ad filmed at altar: A Catholic church in Ventimiglia, Italy, was temporarily closed after an estate agent used its altar to film a promotional video for a nearby property. Bishop Antonio Suetta ruled the unauthorized commercial use a profanation and suspended Eucharists until a penitential rite on Sept. 4. The parish priest was reportedly unaware of the filming. The diocese has also announced a formal complaint to authorities.

That would constitute remarkably poor judgement from Rome even if Lizardo Estrada were simply another name passing across the Pope’s desk. But he isn’t — Robert Prevost knows Lizardo Estrada very well. This is not one of those tenuous Vatican connections in which two churchmen happened to occupy neighbouring seats at a conference twenty years ago. Estrada has described Prevost as his professor and his spiritual director. Vatican News itself describes Prevost as Estrada’s formator in the Order of Saint Augustine. Estrada studied under him at Trujillo, where Prevost taught Patristics and Canon Law and served in Augustinian formation. The relationship therefore goes back to Estrada’s formative years as a young religious. Teacher and pupil. Formator and seminarian. Spiritual director and directee. Fellow Augustinians. Later, fellow bishops in Peru. And now Pope and archbishop-elect. Is there anything improper about a pope appointing somebody he knows?
On 3 September, SilereNonPossum.com published a video of Cardinal Mauro Gambetti at an apparently lavish private gathering. In the video, guests can be seen singing together in an opulent setting. 'Some sing while St Peter's Basilica falls apart,' wrote the outlet sarcastically, contrasting the surroundings with Gambetti's Franciscan vows and his public emphasis on humility, poverty, and immigration. SilereNonPossum has repeatedly criticised Cardinal Gambetti’s leadership of St Peter’s Basilica.
Archbishop Jesús Sanz Montes of Oviedo has backed rallies across Spain in support of Ceuta and Melilla. He criticised Morocco’s “territorial claims” and accused Spain’s government of failing to act. His comments came after more than 70,000 immigrants crossed from Morocco into Ceuta on 31 July, overwhelming the Spanish exclave. Around 5,000 are said to remain. A police report cited this week called the mass crossing “planned” and raised possible links to Moroccan security forces. Rallies have since spread across Spain under the slogan: “Ceuta is not for sale — Ceuta must be defended.”
royanewsenglish US President Donald Trump hosted senior Hasidic and ultra-Orthodox rabbis at the White House ahead of Rosh Hashanah, including the two Satmar Grand Rabbis, whose movement opposes political Zionism. During an approximately eight-minute private meeting, Satmar Grand Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum reportedly handed Trump a letter stating that Zionists and 'Israeli' leaders, including Benjamin Netanyahu, do not represent the Jewish people. The letter urged the US administration to treat Hasidic Jews as Jewish Americans rather than representatives of 'Israel' or Zionism. According to Jewish Voice, Trump welcomed the message and said he would discuss it further with his staff. instagram.com/reel/Dc2Nnk8O_lk/
Philippine Couple Weds in Flooded Church: Leian Lieza Galang and Gilbert Chico refused to let flooding ruin their wedding in Hagonoy, north of Manila. The couple exchanged vows in waist-deep water at St. John the Baptist Church after weeks of heavy rain. Around 15 guests waded through brown water to attend. Despite the parish advising them to postpone, the couple went ahead: the bride shortened her wedding dress train and the priest kept the ceremony brief. “We didn’t mind getting soaked,” the groom told media.
Despite severe flooding at St. John the Baptist Parish in Hagonoy, Bulacan, Philippines, Leian Lieza Galang and Gilbert Chico chose to go forward with their Catholic wedding on Sept. 1. With their clothes soaked and fewer than 15 guests present, they stood before the altar and received the Sacrament of Matrimony.

PLACE YOUR COMMENTS IF YOU'D LIKE. 2027 UPCOMING MOVIE PART 1 VIRTUES VS THE SINS - THESE CLIPS POSTED ON SEP 4, 2026 ABOUT THE MOVIE: Virtues Against Sins: This film is being produced gradually under the supervision of the Church. It will consist of three parts. The first part presents catechesis on the virtues that counter sins, based on the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church and the Doctors of the Church. Just as our Lord Jesus spoke in parables and used elements of nature and everyday life things and people. This movie will use elements of nature, humanoid (human like) monsters to represent the sins, and critters and insects to represent temptations. The first part will be composed of fantastical elements to describe how virtues oppose the sins within the soul, not outside but inside, the internal battle for holiness. The second part features real-life anecdotes addressing various life situations, as well as the crisis of faith within the Church. The third part will include mystical …Zwiṅwe

Saint of the Day Sep 4 - St Rosalia, Virgin of Palermo La Santuzza (the little saint) Memorial 4 September Profile Born to the Sicilian nobility, the daughter of Sinibald, Lord of Roses, and Quisquina. Descendant of Charlemagne. Raised around the royal Siciliancourt. From her youth, Rosalia knew she was called to dedicate her life to God. When grown, she moved to cave near her parent’s home, and lived in it the rest of her life; tradition says that she was led to the cave by two angels. On the cave wall she wrote “I, Rosalia, daughter of Sinibald, Lord of Roses, and Quisquina, have taken the resolution to live in this cave for the love of my Lord, Jesus Christ.” Rosalia remained apart from the world, dedicated to prayer and works of penance for the sake of Jesus, and died alone. In 1625, during a period of plague, she appeared in a vision to a hunter near her cave. Her relics were discovered, brought to Palermo, and paraded through the street. Three days later the plague…Zwiṅwe
[Saint Victorinus – III-IV Century AD; born: Roman Greece/died: Pettau, Roman Greece; Spiritual Writer; Martyr under Diocletian] From the Sixth Chapter 1, 2. And when the Lamb had opened one of the seven seals, I saw, and heard one of the four living creatures saying, Come and see. And, lo, a white horse, and He who sat upon him had a bow. The first seal being opened, he says that he saw a white horse, and a crowned horseman having a bow. For this was at first done by Himself. For after the Lord ascended into heaven and opened all things, He sent the Holy Spirit, whose words the preachers sent forth as arrows reaching to the human heart, that they might overcome unbelief. And the crown on the head is promised to the preachers by the Holy Spirit. The other three horses very plainly signify the wars, famines, and pestilences announced by our Lord in the Gospel. And thus he says that one of the four living creatures said (because all four are one), Come and see. Come is said to him that is …Zwiṅwe
"3, 4. And when He had opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red, and to him that sat upon him was given a great sword. The red horse, and he that sat upon him, having a sword, signify the coming wars, as we read in the Gospel: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be great earthquakes in various places. This is the ruddy horse."
