In recent days, it has been argued that the Franciscan anniversary celebrations in St Peter's basilica had been planned for years. @Michael Haynes wrote that the specific event at the Altar of the Chair was announced only in September, after the pilgrimage’s request for Mass had been refused in August. As for the prohibited procession, customary security restrictions have been cited as an excuse. Imagine being a Catholic who wants to thank Pope Benedict XVI for Summorum Pontificum, the document that restored greater freedom for the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass, only to reportedly find the doors of St. Peter’s Basilica closed to your pilgrimage. These are Catholics who love the Church, defend her traditions, and want to preserve the ancient Roman liturgy that nourished generations of saints. The Pope of Applause. Today, Leo XIV received a seemingly endless ovation from charismatic Catholics of the Jesus Youth movement, founded in Kerala, southern India, in the 1970s. They shouted “Woo!” and “Woo-hoo!” He responded with a broad smile (wait the whole minute for it). Such applause is routine for Leo XIV. He allows himself to be applauded, cheered and acclaimed every day, sometimes several times a day. One wonders how any ordinary man can endure such constant immersion in adulation.

The Vatican's “speech of inclusiveness and tolerance is not true, it is ideological and selective,” Bishop Athanasius Schneider told AdVaticanum.com following the Vatican’s ban on the Summorum Pontificum pilgrimage procession entering St. Peter’s Basilica today. Schneider criticized the contradiction between the Church’s promotion of synodality and its exclusion of traditional Catholics. “A group of Catholics who are in good standing and recognize the Pope, pray for the Pope, for the bishops — exactly this group was banned,” he said. Schneider suggested that accusations of rejecting Vatican II are being used as a pretext to exclude traditional Catholics. “I think it could be a pretext also that they allegedly reject the Second Vatican Council.
