This reported Eucharistic Miracle was witnessed on Palm Sunday, 24th March, 2024, in the parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the village of Chekiye, Chumukedima in the Indian state of Nagaland. The priest in charge of this parish is Fr. Johnson Vadakkapurathan and the Bishop of this diocese is Dr. James Thopill, the Bishop of Kohima.
Fr. Johnson was the first to witness the miracle. Around two months before the miracle was seen, a Catholic along with her Baptist friend visited the Church of Mount Carmel for Sunday Mass. While Holy Communion was being distributed, the Baptist woman received the Holy Eucharist in her hand but did not consume it. Only baptised practising Catholics are permitted to receive Holy Communion. Unlike Catholics, The Baptist denomination does not have the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist as the Catholic Church does. Baptist doctrine …More
