Criteria for determining whether a prophecy or message from a seer comes from God
1) Deuteronomy 18:21-22; “You may say in your heart, ‘How shall we know that this word has not been spoken by Yahweh?’ If a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, and what he says does not come to pass or come true, then Yahweh has not spoken that word; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be afraid of him.”2) Jeremiah 28:9 “The prophet who prophesies peace can only be recognized as truly sent by Yahweh when his word is fulfilled.”
3) 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21; “Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophecies; test everything and keep what is good.”
