Yesterday (Sept 8) I formally asked the religious community Missionaries of Charity Contemplative Brothers of Mother Teresa, Rome, if I could join them as a religious brother. I am ready to be consecrated and take vows. I wrote to Fr. Ramon Lustiner m.c, the Father General of the community. He is in Rome these days.
I had been living in a dormitory of their Home for the Aged, Casa Serena. I participated in their daily prayers, at the mother house. My Eucharistic Adoration time was 8 a.m to 10 a.m and then 7 p.m to 8 p.m before the night prayers.
But to accept me as a member of their religious community, to live with them as a brother, Fr. Ramon needs the permission of the secular police in Rome. Since, I affirm the Catholic teaching outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation from Hell according to the Bible ( John 3:5, Mark 16:16), Vatican Council II ( AG 7), the Catechism of Pope John Paul II ( CCC 845,846).
I go for the Italian Mass and accept Pope Leo as the pope. I consider him magisterial and apostolic only when he interprets the Creeds, Councils and Catechisms, rationally and honestly and so traditionally, like me. An irrational interpretation would be dishonest even from a secular point of view. It would not be magisterial for any pope.
OBJECTIONS
It is interesting to note now, that in 2003-2004, I had objected in writing, to the priestly ordination of Fr. Ramon, Fr.Benedict, Fr. Subash and a few other M.C seminarians, at this center in Largo Preneste. I wrote to Fr. Sebastian Vazhakhala m.c. I said that these seminarians who were to be ordained did not believe in the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS). At that time, I was living at Casa Serena, when I had to leave two seminaries. I was still studying Philosophy at the Regina Apostolorum University, in Rome.
Now after some 24 years, all of us here,and all the M.C priests and religious sisters, affirm, affirm the de fide teaching, outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation. This is the pre and post Councilor teaching.
Vatican Council II is ecclesiocentric (AG 7), dogmatic (AG 7/ EENS etc) and traditional.It is in harmony with Feeneyite EENS.
NICENE CREED
In the Nicene Creed we learn that all need the baptism of water for salvation and that the one, holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, still teaches that outside the Church there is no salvation ( AG 7, CCC 846 etc).
The Missionaries of Charity also affirm the Athanasius Creed which says all need to be members of the Catholic Church for eternal salvation. This Creed has no explicit exceptions, in Vatican Council II.
So unlike in 2003, today, doctrinally we are on the same wavelength.
But will the M.C community in Rome be labeled ‘terrorist’ for affirming the Bible, VC 2 and the Catechism of Pope John Paul II?
The Missionaries of Charity all over the world oppose abortion, they are pro-life. For many this is ‘politically dangerous’. It is ‘domestic terrrorism’. – Lionel Andrades
