A Guide to Plenary Indulgences for the All Souls' "Octave", November 1-8
Visiting a Cemetery: An indulgence, applicable only to the Souls in Purgatory, is granted to the faithful, who devoutly visit a cemetery and pray, even if only mentally, for the departed. The indulgence is plenary each day from November 1-8; on other days of the year it is a partial indulgence.
Visiting a Church on November 2: A plenary indulgence, applicable only to the souls in purgatory, is granted to the faithful who, on All Souls' Day (or, according to the judgment of the ordinary, on the Sunday preceding or following it, or on the solemnity of All Saints), devoutly visit a church or an oratory and recite an Our Father and the Creed.

I used to admire people who took on tiny home living, supposedly shedding themselves of things that don't matter, going without, growing their own food, etc. But it occurred to me that likely people don't last very long in these homes and most lack the vision and courage to provide for families in these settings.
And then there's the connectivity. Do you notice the satellite dish on this adorable little cottage? The compact interior comes with a big screen t.v.
There's nothing impressive about hanging out by yourself for a length of time that you choose and staring endlessly at your screens.
What impresses me more is a vision to unplug. Let's start that movement! Let's take long breaks or reduce use of televisions, computers, cell phones, fit bits, all of it. Jonathan Darnell, Jean Marshall and Joan Bell, facing possibly 11 years in jail and taken to jail immediately awaiting sentencing.
These are every-day people, with every-day lives and responsibilities, not super-heroes. Please pray for them.

Joan Bell has worked relentlessly to defend the unborn over several decades. Currently she is facing a decade in jail (a real possibility). The Biden administration, very much including VP Kamila Harris, is using every means at his disposal - and a few more not at his disposal - to cause them the greatest suffering possible.
I don't think there is any doubt they will be going to jail. Who, in this hostile "post Roe" environment, will even attempt to get them out?
Please pray for them to endure what is ahead.

A caller to The Patrick Madrid Show radio program today asked whether God knew children who would not be conceived because a couple was contracepting. Through artificial contraception, are they blocking the existence of a person God would want in the world? Is someone who is never conceived- a potential person, without a body and a soul, never really created- known by God?
Patrick explained middle knowledge (Scientia media) – can God know something that is only theoretical, a possibility, it doesn’t really exist, it doesn’t actually happen? The Molinists on the Jesuit side said yes, God can know in a “middle knowledge way” and the Thomists on the Dominican side said no. They argued endlessly and both had good arguments.
