Actor Jim Caveizel weighs in on the choice of The Pillar to name Fr Carlos Martins in a report based solely on a statement issued by a parish he was visiting.

As someone who has worked as an educator, I have seen and heard so much. The unfortunate thing is that there are so many students who have ruined teachers' careers, indeed, their lives, by falsely accusing them. It's easier for a diocese or school district to determine them guilty without caring to consider the possibility of their innocence. They'd rather get rid of the issue the easiest way possible. This is why people don't want to be teachers anymore. They don't pay us nearly enough...and at any time, for any reason, we can be falsely accused and fired without due process.

The "case" is about touching hair for a second in front of 200 students. Troubled by the way the diocese handled this, and continues to handle this.
