If it had been a finger that had broken off there would be no issue. Of course, the commercial would have had much less of an impact on viewers and, therefore, would have been less effective.

Again, ridiculous in your mind but perfectly reasonable if such a thing were to have actually occurred. Even if it had been a finger and the nun wanted to insure the piece would not be further damaged, she would have handled the broken piece in the exact same way.

Again, in your mind it was meant to simulate an erection. Perhaps the second nun corrected the error of mother superior and placed the broken piece in the position it was in before it broke off. We don't know.

Again, gravely sinful in your mind but we don't know if it is or is not gravely sinful for others. It's hard to imagine that this glue commercial would be the cause for anyone to spend eternity in hell. In addition, do we know the intent (one of the 3 necessary requirements for a sin to be mortal) of the producers of the commercial? Can we say with certainty that those producers deliberately attempted to blaspheme the Son of God?

I'll make the case for this commercial being sacrilegious on many levels, here goes: The commercial starts in a convent (holy place) and then starts the downward spiral. The nuns come to a statue of Christ and notice a penis broken off it-this starts the perversion. I really don't recall seeing anatomically representative statues of a boy Jesus Christ personally but I could be mistaken-I believe it is very rare and possibly fabricated for this commercial. I think it is funny. You know, a trappistine cloistered nun in a monastery far from everything in the Alps mountains said me once that life was very joyful in her convent, and that she and the other nuns had frequently a good laugh.
