Democracy is often nothing more than mob rule.
As Fulton Sheen once so poignantly put it; "A lie is a lie, even if everyone believes it; the Truth is the Truth even if no one believes it!" This crowd/mob mentality is the sin of Babel where man thought they could 'storm heaven' due to overwhelming "unity" - though it was a unity of error!
