Thanks be to God, Fr. Nay, for the teaching/preaching. Grateful when the Spirit tutors to go to Scripture to followup on the lesson. Googled Haydock and talents and got further instruction in graces/talents in Mt 25. They are seldom seen in the States and, even when present in the church, they are not used. However, I think I know why they are most often seen and used in Europe.

They are seldom seen in the States and, even when present in the church, they are not used. However, I think I know why they are most often seen and used in Europe.
From this higher vantage point, the European homilist could see the entire congregation more clearly and who in the congregation was sleeping during the sermon. That wicked person/persons could then be singled out and properly humiliated.
