Komm, der alle Armen liebt, komm, der gute Gaben gibt, komm, der jedes Herz erhellt. "Amen, amen, ich sage euch: Was ihr vom Vater erbitten werdet, das wird er euch in meinem Namen geben. Bis jetzt habt ihr noch nichts in meinem Namen erbeten. Bittet, und ihr werdet empfangen, damit eure Freude vollkommen ist." (Joh 16,23 24) Erstaunt können wir aufhorchen: Haben die Jünger nicht um die ersten Plätze im Königreich Jesu gebeten? Doch – wie der hl. Augustinus bemerkt hat - – sind die eitlen Dinge dieser Welt wie Besitz, Macht oder Ehre in den Augen Gottes ein großes „Nichts“. Der junge König Salomon hatte bei Gott einen Wunsch frei. Er bat Gott nicht um Reichtum, Macht, Ruhm und ein langes Leben. Nein, er bat Gott um ein „hörendes Herz“. Devotissimo e dedito alla penitenza fin da giovane, indossò il saio francescano, nonostante la sua gracile costituzione, e fu dispensiere ed umile questuante nel convento di Iglesias e poi in altri conventi. Dopo quindici anni, fu richiamato a Cagliari nel convento del Buoncammino. Qui, lavorò nel lanificio e come questuante in città, svolgendo per quarant’anni il suo apostolato tra poveri e peccatori, aiutando e convertendo. La gente lo chiamava “Padre santo “ e anche un pastore protestante, cappellano del reggimento di fanteria tedesco, lo definì ‘un santo vivente’. Divenuto cieco due anni prima della morte, fu dispensato dalla questua ma continuò a osservare la Regola come i suoi confratelli.

Well-educated, and probably born to the Gallic nobility. May have been married at one point. Archbishop of Vienne, France in 461. Known for his secular and theological learning, and for bringing back the faith to an indifferent region. Involved in a dispute with Pope Saint Hilarius in 463 about the privileges of the diocese of Arles, France. Brought back the tradition of rogation processions which soon gained papal approval and were used throughout Europe. Built a church in honor of Saint Ferreolus whose relics were discovered in his diocese. A miracle worker, he is reported to have ended an urban disaster – through prayer he stopped a fire that was destroying the city of Vienne one Easter night. After staying there some time, Paul left and traveled in orderly sequence through the Galatian country and Phrygia, bringing strength to all the disciples.
A Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, an eloquent speaker, arrived in Ephesus. He was an authority on the scriptures.
He had been instructed in the Way of the Lord and, with ardent spirit, spoke and taught accurately about Jesus, although he knew only the baptism of John.
He began to speak boldly in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the Way (of God) more accurately.
And when he wanted to cross to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. After his arrival he gave great assistance to those who had come to believe through grace. He vigorously refuted the Jews in public, establishing from the scriptures that the Messiah is Jesus. Après avoir passé quelque temps à Antioche, Paul partit. Il parcourut successivement le pays galate et la Phrygie, en affermissant tous les disciples.
Or, un Juif nommé Apollos, originaire d’Alexandrie, venait d’arriver à Éphèse. C’était un homme éloquent, versé dans les Écritures.
Il avait été instruit du Chemin du Seigneur ; dans la ferveur de l’Esprit, il parlait et enseignait avec précision ce qui concerne Jésus, mais, comme baptême, il ne connaissait que celui de Jean.

Profile Son of a poor farmer with seven children, Ignatius grew up in hard rural poverty, working the fields. At age 17, he became very ill, and promised to become a Franciscan if he was spared. When he was cured, his father convinced him to wait. At age 20 Ignatius was almost killed when he lost control of his horse; suddenly the horse stopped, and trotted on quietly. Ignatius was convinced God had saved his life again, and he decided to follow his religious vocation at once. He joined the Capuchin monastery of Saint Benedict at Buoncammino, Italy as a lay brother, taking his vows in 1722. Worked fifteen years in his house’s weaving shed, then spent forty years as part of a team who went house to house asking food and donations for the friars. Trascorso ad Antiochia un pò di tempo, Paolo partì di nuovo percorrendo di seguito le regioni della Galazia e della Frigia, confermando nella fede tutti i discepoli.
Arrivò a Efeso un Giudeo, chiamato Apollo, nativo di Alessandria, uomo colto, versato nelle Scritture.
Questi era stato ammaestrato nella via del Signore e pieno di fervore parlava e insegnava esattamente ciò che si riferiva a Gesù, sebbene conoscesse soltanto il battesimo di Giovanni.

"¡Jóvenes de Cristo, venid a servir a la Iglesia!". Bajo la bandera de este lema, la parroquia de Changshugang, de la diócesis de Suzhou, vivió la jornada del mes mariano dedicada a los jóvenes. Junto con sacerdotes y religiosas, los jóvenes compartieron experiencias de fe y de vida. El párroco, don Dai Xuefeng, animó a los jóvenes a aprovechar la oportunidad de acercarse al Señor, acoger el amor de Dios y dedicarse al servicio de la Iglesia.
