2nd SUNDAY IN ADVENT - 2^ DOMENICA DI AVVENTO.
Salvation, as announced by the prophet and awaited for by the people, becomes a reality with the coming of Christ. He is the “new city”, the “new man” who completely belongs to God and who turns all those who welcome and accept Him into a “new city” and “new man”. Yet, to obtain this, the paths that lead to Him need to be leveled off, conversion and abandoning sin are needed. God actually enters into the history of mankind and so every man ca see God’s salvation.
La salvezza, annunciata dal profeta e attesa dal popolo, diventa realtà con la venuta di Cristo. Egli è la nuova città, l’uomo nuovo che appartiene completamente a Dio e che rende tali quelli che lo accolgono. Ma per ottenere questo occorre spianare le strade che portano a lui, convertirsi e abbandonare il peccato. Dio entra realmente nella storia dell’uomo e quindi ogni uomo può vedere la salvezza di Dio, ma ciò avviene solo nella misura in cui si realizza l’esodo dal peccato e la conversione.
